About the Danish Meat Trade College

The Danish Meat Trade College is an independent education and training centre, founded in 1964 by the Danish slaughter houses, which considered human resources to be of paramount importance for the future expansion of the sector. Today the Danish Meat Trade College has developed into a modern educational institution, covering education and training for the Danish food and service industry at the following levels:

Vocational education and training : Industrial slaughtering, retail shop butchering, sausage making, cook, waiter, baker, pastry baker, nutrition assistant, service assistant and security guard.

Adult vocational training Centre: Shorter courses for employers in the Danish food and service industry.

Multicultural cooperation between vocational schools in EU: Mutual 3 – 10 week’s basic educational training programs for Erasmus+ exchange students and teachers. Participation in various EU and Nordplus funded programs.

International training activities: Tailored training activities developed in close cooperation with clients. The training activities take place at The Danish Meat Trade College’s facilities or at client’s premises abroad.

At the Danish Meat Trade College approximately 5,000 individuals are educated or trained annually in Denmark or abroad.

About us

The Danish Meat Trade College has full scale practical training facilities for food production:

• Training slaughterhouse (4,000 m2)
• Meat processing facilities for sausage making, smoked and cured products
• Retail butcher and food shop
• Training restaurant and café
• Bread and pastry bakery facilities
• Various kitchen facilities
• Training facilities for cleaner & security guards

The full scale training facilities for food production fulfills all veterinarian and hygienic requirements stipulated by EU.

The teacher’s are highly skilled craftsmen with very different technical background, supplemented with a pedagogical diploma education. Many of the teachers have international experience in English language skills so training and education can be conducted in English.

Qualifications development: The Danish Meat Trade College participates in an ongoing process with national industry, bodies and institutions to ensure the future competitiveness of the Danish food and service industry.
